A Practical Guide on Vaccination against COVID-19

The Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine has developed a short practical guide on vaccination for seafarers and shipping companies.

The Guide is based upon the recent publication by the International Chamber of Shipping (ISC) in collaboration with the International Maritime Health Association, the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (Intertanko) and the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF).

Thus, the main purpose of the Practical Guide from the MWTU is to combat misinformation about vaccine, which subsequently results in an unjustified refusal to get vaccinated. So, although at the moment it is unknown exactly how many seafarers do not want to be vaccinated against COVID-19, the data of social surveys indicate a high percentage of refusals among the population (30% of the US population; 40% of the population of some European Union countries).

A Practical Guide from MTWTU provides reliable information on the different types, compositions and benefits of vaccines available today, as well as answers the most frequent vaccine-related questions. The Guide also contains materials from the World Health Organization.
