AMONG THE MAIN AREAS OF THE CURRENT HUMAN RIGHTS WORK OF THE MTWTU ARE THE FOLLOWING:

- Submitting demands to employers to cease violations of labour legislation;
- Requesting the termination of employment contracts with managers who violate current labour legislation;
- Filing complaints with the State Labor Service of Ukraine;
- Providing legal support to MTWTU members in labour dispute cases in courts;
- Summarizing current judicial practices in labour disputes;
- Analyzing the current labour legislation;
- Conducting legal examinations of draft regulatory acts, providing proposals, and opposing the liberalization of labour laws;
- Submitting appeals to the President of Ukraine, the Parliament, the Government, relevant ministries, and other governmental and non-governmental institutions on issues of protecting and representing the rights of MTWTU members;
- Conducting trade union training for MTWTU members on labour rights protection and advocacy.
On this matter, the MTWTU Plenum also adopted a resolution requiring local trade union organizations to strengthen public oversight of employers' compliance with labour laws, counter any misuse of labor legislation by employers (if identified), and promptly inform the MTWTU of any violations to develop joint actions to protect the rights of our members.
The Local Trade Union Organization (LTUO) of the MTWTU consists of union members working (or studying) at the same enterprise (institution, organization). MTWTU members elect the Chairman of the LTUO and the trade union committee, which perform the MTWTU functions at the local level.
