MTWTU Met With the Head of the Maritime Administration

Trade Union representatives had a meeting with the newly appointed head of the Shipping Administration — Yevhenii Ignatenko.

Issues of concern to the maritime community were discussed. Among these are the liquidation of the Inspectorate for the Training and Certification of Seafarers, the certification procedure, control over the Unified State Register of Seafarers' Documents, the issue of activities and inspections of the National Maritime Safety Board, digitization of services provided by the Shipping Administration, etc.

New head of the Maritime Administration assured that the period of change has already begun, and in the near future, we will have a transparent procedure for the formation and functioning of the DCC, the option of administrative appeals against its decisions, and ways to solve other issues that are currently not settled will be found.

For its part, the MTWTU emphasized its readiness to provide the Shipping Administration with the necessary expert support and assistance in the rule-making process, as well as all possible assistance to resolve issues in the Administration's domain — for the benefit of Ukrainian seafarers.
