ITF secures freedom for 13 abandoned Filipino seafarers stuck in Singapore for 5 months; $1m in backpay won for crews
Thirteen Filipino seafarers have made it home after more than five months aboard an abandoned livestock carrier ship, the Yangtze Harmony, thanks to the intervention of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).
New Rules For Intermediary Services In Employment Abroad
On April 11, 2023, President of Ukraine signed the Law of Ukraine “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the protection of the rights of labour migrants and combating fraud in employment abroad” № 2982-IX dated 20.03.2023 (hereinafter – the Law, https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2982-20#Text ).
