Due to the imposing of the martial law by the President of Ukraine in ten regions, as well as in the internal waters of Ukraine in the Azov-Kerch water area, the Marine Transport Workers’ Trade Union of Ukraine responds to the multiple enquiries from seafarers and their families, our partners and fraternal ITF trade unions on how the new introduction can affect the Ukrainian seafarers, working for foreign employers.

Over the next 3 years, the minimum Basic Wage of the 1st Class Seaman (AB) will be increased by $27.

A three days training on strengthening HIV workplace policies and programmes for maritime sector workers organized by the Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine and International Labor Organization has completed. The MTWTU Chairman Michael Kirieiev and First Vice Chairman Oleg Grygoriuk have met the International Labor Organization representatives - Dr Afsar Syed Mohammad, Senior Technical Specialist, ILOAIDS, Geneva, and Mrs Larysa Savchuk, the ILO National Project Coordinator on HIV, Ukraine.
