Raised Minimum Wage for AB
Over the next 3 years, the minimum Basic Wage of the 1st Class Seaman (AB) will be increased by $27.

Fair Transport for All - BTB Statutory Congress
On 18-19 of November, 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium, there was held the Statutory Congress of Belgian Transport Union ABVV BTB, entitled ‘Fair transport for all’. At the event, the MTWTU was represented by its Chairman Michael Kirieiev.
Negotiations: Wilson & MTWTU
On November 15, negotiations were held in Odessa between the Marine Transport Workers’ Trade Union of Ukraine and the Norwegian shipping company Wilson Ship Management.
MTWTU and ILO joint seminar in Odessa
A three days training on strengthening HIV workplace policies and programmes for maritime sector workers organized by the Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine and International Labor Organization has completed. It was attended by 30 MTWTU members from all over the country, including seafarers and cadets of maritime educational institutions.
Vessel is seized by illegal migrants
A gang of illegal migrants have occupied the vessel in the Libyan port city of Misrata. About 90 people, mostly immigrants from African countries, took control of a RORO flying the flag of Panama and demanded to be transported to Europe.
The experts on HIV issues learned about the MTWTU work
Within the framework of the joint MTWTU and ILO seminar there was held a meeting between the MTWTU First Vice Chairman Oleg Grygoriuk, Vitalii Novosvitnyi, the director of Odessa city Center for HIV / AIDS Prevention and Control, Victor Hoidyk, deputy chief of Odessa Regional TB hospital, and Nataliya Salabay, expert of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
