Pensions&Taxes for seafarers

Once again the relevance of pensions and taxation matters reaffirmed among seafarers.

During the seminar in the MTWTU Maritime Union Center our lagal advisor has acquainted the seafarers with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation regarding taxation of seafarers, avoidance of double taxation, and the responsibility for violations in taxation. The participants also got an opportunity to analyze the samples of the enqueries sent by fiscal policymakers to seafarers and some crewing agencies.

The issue of the pension system in Ukraine, as well as the possibility of seafarers' voluntary participation in it, was also equally relevant.

Special thanks to the seminar participants for their active participation in the discussion on alternative ways of ensuring social welfare of seafarers upon achievement of the retirement age, as well as for the feedback shown. This allows us to make our subsequent seminars even more productive and interesting.
