Negotiations with Danish shipowners

On the 22 January there was held a meeting of the MTWTU with Danish Shipping and the largest Denmark shipowner Maersk. It was organized with the direct involvement of a good partner of the MTWTU - Metal Maritime Chairman Ole Philipsen.


The meeting was attended by Danish Shipping Executive Director Anne Windfeldt Trolle, Maersk Line Head of Marine HR Niels Bruus, and the MTWTU First Vice Chairman Oleg Grygoriuk.

Danish Shipping is a trade and employer organisation for more than 90 shipowners and offshore companies, including Maersk, who employ Ukrainian seafarers for many years. The meeting was aimed at familiarization of the Associatiom representatives with Ukrainian maritime Labor market and Ukrainian seafarers. Also - establishing partnership to provide support and assistance to Ukrainian seafarers who have already established themselves and are successfully working onboard the vessels of Danish shipping companies.

In order to open the new employment perspectives for Ukrainian seafarers Oleg Grygoriuk has invited Danish Shipping representatives to take part in Europe-Asia Maritime Summit 2020, which will be held fot the third time in Odessa, on 26 June.

Meeting in the Norwegian Parliament

Oleg Grygoriuk,Chairman of the Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union (MTWTU), met with Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, the Head of the Committee on International Relations in the Norwegian Parliament. Eriksen Søreide has played significant roles in the Norwegian government, notably as the Foreign Minister from 2017 to 2021, becoming the first woman to hold this position. Previously, she served as the Minister of Defence from 2013 to 2017. As a member of the Conservative Party, she was elected to the Parliament from Oslo in 2005.
