Raised Minimum Wage for AB

Over the next 3 years, the minimum Basic Wage of the 1st Class Seaman (AB) will be increased by $27.

This was the agreement reached in November 2018 in Geneva during the ILO Joint Maritime Commission (JMC) Subcommittee on Wages of Seafarers. Thus, in 2019, the AB Basic Wage will increase by $ 4, in 2020 – by $ 7, and in 2021 – by another $ 16 and will amount to $ 641. Respectively, the wage growth for the other positions is also expected.

Recall that the current basic wage rate for AB amounts to $ 614.
