For many years, Ukraine has been a leader in training maritime personnel for the international labour market. A number of the best shipping companies employ Ukrainian cadets and train young and prospective seafarers to work on their vessels.

The global maritime industry, according to international analytical resources, is facing difficulties due to a shortage of qualified personnel.

Marine Transport Workers Trade Union of Ukraine, in collaboration with the ITF Seafarers’ Trust, has started a new project. As part of this endeavor, 10 sponsored spots have been allocated at the Lithuanian Maritime Academy for cadets who enrolled at the Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA) in the current academic year. The project covers the cost of the first year of education at both institutions, as well as accommodation at the Academy’s campus in Klaipeda.

The joint project of the MTWTU and the Danish trade union 3F opens up more and more opportunities for active MTWTU members.

As part of the project, another informational meeting was held on modern approaches to motivating trade union membership and creating a favorable social and psychological climate in teams and the trade union environment for MTWTU members - local leaders, members of trade union committees, and active members of the Union.

The Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine and the Danish Trade Union 3F are implementing their second joint project.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has for the third time extended the mandate of the IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, Head of the Trade Union of Maritime Transport Workers of Ukraine, Oleg Grygoriuk.

Відбулося чергове засідання Наглядової ради UNION SOLIDARITY

FUND, заснованого Міжнародною федерацією транспортників (ІТF) та Європейською

федерацією транспортників (ETF) для допомоги українським профспілкам, які є

членськими організаціями обох федерацій.

This year, the MTWTU continues the tradition of informational meetings with cadets of the National University "Odesa Maritime Academy".

Today, at the Maritime Union Center, graduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Maritime Law and Management of the Odessa Maritime Academy received their master's diplomas.

Ukrainian cadets from Kherson State Maritime Academy, who are simultaneously pursuing education at the Lithuanian Maritime Academy in Klaipeda, have successfully completed the semester at both educational institutions.

Today, the Ηead of the MTWTU, Oleg Grygoriuk, participated in the Conference of the Labor Collective of the Kherson State Maritime Academy. The event took place at the office of our partners, Marlow Navigation company.

За сприянням та під егідою Молодіжної Ради Професійної спілки робітників морського транспорту України (ПРМТУ)

В Одесі пройшло VI засідання Центральної ради ПРМТУ.

7 листопада в Одесі за підтримки Професійної спілки робітників морського транспорту України в рамках спільного проєкту Координаційного центру допомоги морякам (КЦДМ) та Міжнародної організації праці (МОП), відбувся круглий стіл на тему «Охорона праці та здоров’я робітників морського транспорту України: запобігання розповсюдженню ВІЛ, мобінгу та дискримінації».

Під таким гаслом у містах Львів та Київ відбудуться заходи у рамках однойменного проєкта, який реалізується Українською асоціацією студентів спільно з Парламентом студентів Республіки Польщі.
