In the context of the unveiling military conflict in Ukraine, please be advised that following an agreement reached with the Joint Negotiating Group of employers (JNG) and further consultations with ITF Officers, the IBF List of Warlike and High Risk Areas has been amended to include 3 new designations:

Addressed ICS and IMEC with a request to help insure Ukrainian seafarers on ships worldwide are granted additional access to the Internet and phone calls.

Appealed to the ITF and ITF Cruise Ship Task Force to ensure cruise lines avoid calling the Russian ports.

MTWTU asks the ETF and its affiliates to support our soonest membership in the EU.

All our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine. The hearts and minds of transport workers around the world weigh heavily as we witness war breaking out.

ITF opens Panama office to foster union growth in Latin America and the Caribbean

Одной из наиболее распространенных мошеннических схем является рассылка предложений о работе в море от имени известных судоходных компаний.

This year, the ITF Seafarers' Trust celebrates its 40th anniversary.

On November 5, representatives of the Swiss ‘Suisse-Atlantique’ shipping company visited the office of the Marine Transport Workers’ Trade Union of Ukraine.

An ITF inspector was physically assaulted by a ship’s Master in an unprecedented attack. The assault happened onboard a vessel which was being investigated by the Inspectorate of the ITF for failing to comply with safety regulations, and for apparent irregularities in crew pay and conditions. The company is a well-known European shipowner, with their vessel flagged to landlocked Luxemburg.

Today, at the Dockers' Seminar organized by Marine Transport Workers' Trade Union of Ukraine and German trade union ver.di, the participants discussed modern automated cargo handling technologies in seaports and requirements for the training of port workers.
